Are You Letting This Season Make Or Break You?

Written by Randi Bateman

Trusting the process can be extremely difficult. Not having control is even more difficult. In times where it feels like life is taking all types of punches at you, it’s frustrating knowing that much of the chaos is out of your hands. So, how do you trust the process when the process seems to be taking all of your faith, peace, and joy?

Whatever you may be going through or dealing with, there will come a time where you won’t have control of what goes on. It’ll require extreme faith and patience to keep going. But it’s important that you keep going on. During the tough seasons, we learn a lot about ourselves. Often times, we are stretched beyond our limits and feel incapable of coming out of what we are going through, but trust the process. The process plays a part in your overall journey, the lessons you learn in a specific season, will equip you for another season. Though the process may be harder than ever and seems impossible, it can’t be skipped. It’s all part of a greater plan that we can’t usually see, but is always working for our good.

When you are going through a tough time in your life, it’s crucial that you are surrounded by people who uplift you and POUR into you. During those seasons, we are typically pouring out or exhausting ourselves, don’t run empty. When we run empty, we have nothing to give, hold on too, or hope for. Being around your tribe will help lift you up. To be honest: encouraging yourself during a hard time, is DIFFICULT, sometimes impossible. That’s why the people you are surrounded by is critical. Will they be positive? Will they help you see the season as significant? These are questions we must ask.

Trusting the process isn’t easy, but it is necessary. Difficult seasons can make or break us. But I want to encourage you to allow it complete you and shape you into the best version of yourself. Remember what James 1:2-4 says:

"Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, Consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, Your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing."

The season won’t last but you will. When you are going through a tough time, draw inward and toward the word. You will make it.

Choose joy. Choose peace. Choose love.
